The main purpose of European Union is the creation of a common market, without restrictions for the citizens and the moral persons of each one of the state-members concerning installation and financial activity in the rest of state-members. This specific creation of a common market includes the totality of financial activities, between them and shipping, which is of great importance for the whole European Union. It must be noticed that this specific course is confronting difficulties that are caused by state-members themselves, and have to be eliminated gradually. As far as concerning Greece, shipping is for many years a sector where has been exercised great intervention on behalf of the state. This intervention is due to the great importance that shipping has for Greece, especially for national, defensive and financial in general reasons. As a state-member of European Union, Greece has to approach and be unified with the rest of state-members in the totality of sectors of common action, one of them being shipping, and until today there have been taken place great steps of progress, but on the other hand there are still sectors not being influenced by European Union. The course of Greek shipping inside the unified Europe, is constant, but this course will depend on the willing to take part on behalf of the same the factors of maritime market.
