The requirements of people today are increased continuously and the search of information as well as the transaction of various work have as result the loss of precious time in the localisation of responsible institution and waiting in the tails. At the same time, the percentage of citizens that is familiarized with the Internet continuously increases. These two facts lead a lot of governmental institutions proceed in the disposal of applications of electronic governing via network places (web-sites) which they aim in the rapid service of citizens. In the following work, was made an effort, to show the statement that exists in Greece about e-government. The present work is composed from five chapters, as well as from four especially interesting annexes. Initially, there is a report in the significance of Electronic Government, its characteristics, the types of services, as well as the stages that are required for their application. Afterwards, they are presented the levels of application e - Government in Greece, while also there is analysis of gate e - Gov.gr and Taxis system. Then, follows an analysis and criticism on current level of Electronic Government in Greece, and is studied its repercussions in the sector of competitiveness of the country. Afterwards, is presented a SWOT Analysis, for the application of local Electronic Government from Local authorities. Furthermore, is presented the laws about e-gov in Greece.
