The Internet is a global space commercial activity without geographical restrictions. In recent years electronic commerce is growing rapidly, mainly because of the many benefits it offers to all stakeholders, including producers of large, medium-sized suppliers, retailers, consumers and governments. It should be noted that in the context of e-commerce transactions no matter the size of the firms in this sector and small and medium-sized businesses can compete on an equal footing with larger companies. E-commerce is a form of trade, so is there, applying the existing rules governing the traditional trade. However, the specificities of this new instrument to carry out transactions require specific legislative measures to enhance transparency and the protection of operators and the Internet is particularly "prone" to abuse. Towards strengthening the confidence of internet transactions and a sense of certainty, significant steps were made in Europe with EU Directive 2000/31/EC. E-commerce. The Directive was incorporated into our national legislature, PD 131/03 in the Greek legal system.
