Through this thesis will be studied the contribution of Greek shipping to the Greek economy through the field of employment. Will be developed the problems that exist in this sector and more specifically in the naval profession and influence the balance in the labor market, especially because of the substitution of Greeks from foreigner seamen, the inadequate information that exists for the naval profession and the bad conditions that prevail in the academies. Finally will be reported prospects of improvement so that it can increase itself the supply and the demand of naval work and our country which is a enormous naval force to accomplish despite the actual difficulties to maintain this precedence.
