The concept of databases is not a new concept. The entry of computers and modern technologies however gave to them a bigger value and importance so that they play, nowadays, a leading role in the modern technological scenery. The permanently increasing volume of data that requires processing renders the use of databases more imperative than ever in more and more sectors of science and economy. At the same time, the investments in modern systems of storage and recuperation of information impose the creation of a united and constant frame for databases protection in the modern environment in which enterprises undertake action. In the present essay an approach on the legal protection of databases is attempted on two dimensions the theoretical and practical one. The theoretical dimension analyzes the subject aiming at the presentation and better understanding of legal protection framework e.g. analysis, interpretation of basic concepts of laws and European directives on the subject. The second dimension (practical) represents the requirements’ analysis and the design of a website aiming at the comprehension of required actions for the development of a website in which all the information and material collected is exposed according to the structure of the first part (theoretical dimension).
