The rapid progress of Information Technology in our days has resulted, among others, to the development and expansion of new scientific disciplines. The science of Geographic Information Systems, and to an extend Geoinformatics, is an area of constant growth worldwide, but also within the Greek region. The aim of this thesis is to explore the importance of G.I.S. and investigate the solution for an existing spatial problem; that of identifying a suitable area for residential development and construction of a new hotel on the island of Milos, with the help of G.I.S.
