The fundamental aim of this thesis is to investigate the position that “Environmental Education” possesses in school nowadays. In the beginning, there will be a retrospection of Environmental Education, so that we can see the steps that have been made. The final aim is to observe the attitude that people who participate in our educational system, professors and students, have, toward the Environmental Education and Environmental Protection. In order to achieve this, there was conducted a research, in a High school, in the region of Nea Makri. The questionnaires were distributed, both to the professors and the students of the school. Questionnaires included questions, that concerned demographic data, attitudes and knowledge regarding various environmental problems and of course questions related to Environmental Education. The main conclusion of the thesis, is that Environmental Education, has not taken yet the place that deserves; not only in school but also in the society in general. This will be achieved when all citizens of our society place Environment as the first priority in their life.
