This thesis presents the development of a web-based ridesharing application, aimed at facilitating transportation between users who follow similar routes. Each user can create a personal profile, set their location and preferences, and choose whether to act as a driver or a passenger. Drivers have the ability to create and publish trips, while passengers can search for and receive suggestions based on their location and individual needs.
The purpose of the application is to promote collaborative transportation while simultaneously reducing costs, emissions, and fuel consumption. The implementation uses React for the frontend, Node.js and Express for the backend, and MongoDB as the database. The project emphasizes usability and simplicity, while also focusing on personalization by providing tailored results for each user.
