We have reached a time when we can already see the consequences of climate change all around us, with a direct impact on our lives. Weather patterns have changed, the seasons are not clearly discernible, weather phenomena become more and more severe, unpredictable and intense as the future is more and more uncertain. Living conditions in many areas of the planet due to these extreme weather conditions are bound to become unbearable, if not altogether unlivable. Μany people from the affected areas will resort to migration, either by changing regions within their homeland, or by moving to a whole new country, in order to save their lives. One of the regions where such features are palpable is that of the Mediterranean, the area upon which this essay will endeavor to focus.
