This master’s thesis develops a comprehensive Business Plan for the establishment and operation of a fully integrated industrial facility dedicated to the production of generic injectable antibiotic formulations, focusing on ceftriaxone and cefuroxime as the primary active substances. The study covers the entire lifecycle of the investment, ranging from the strategic analysis of the pharmaceutical sector and the relevant regulatory requirements to the technical and financial assessment of the manufacturing unit. The objective is to evaluate the project’s viability under real market conditions, identify key performance drivers, and present a realistic development model that complies with the regulatory framework of both the Greek and European pharmaceutical markets.
Particular attention is given to the implementation timeline and its individual components, all structured within the principles of GMP and GDP compliance, the competitive dynamics of the European pharmaceutical landscape, and the potential for future international commercial expansion. Through PESTEL, SWOT, and Porter’s Five Forces analyses, the study examines strategic and operational risks and formulates a well-grounded pricing strategy. The financial evaluation incorporates potential funding schemes, while the final assessment is based on NPV, IRR, and Payback Period indicators. Overall, the findings demonstrate that the project exhibits a high level of investment readiness and strong resilience under sensitivity tests related to selling prices and production costs.
