The modern business environment is expanding, becoming more international, increasingly
competitive, and more innovative through the use of new technologies. Therefore, as this
dynamic technological reality develops and spreads, the significant role of strategic
management becomes evident, supported by the necessary tools that contribute to the digital
transformation of businesses and organizations. Companies and organizations must be able to
assess their current status and then conceive, design, and implement the appropriate and
necessary strategic actions to achieve business growth in full harmony with the social, political,
economic and technological trends and challenges emerging in the environment in which they
operate.
The purpose of this thesis is to highlight the high role of strategic management supported by
digital transformation, using Netflix as a case study. Netflix is a leading global online home
entertainment service. The study involves a theoretical review of Greek and international
literature, while also utilizing data and information about the company. The strategic analysis
of the internal and external environment is carried out using analytical tools to examine and
highlight the company’s business environment.
Netflix has successfully managed to identify a way to maintain continuous growth over time
while also sustaining its high profitability through its competitive advantages. It provides
worldwide access to high quality audiovisual content, technologically enhanced and tailored
to specific user preferences through advanced digital technologies. In the future, the company
will need to address existing challenges due to the entry of large audiovisual content producers,
who are creating their own platforms, thus increasing competition in the sector.
