This master's thesis explores how the Life Cycle Approach (LCA Thinking) methodology can be applied to assess and enhance environmental sustainability within the tourism industry. Tourism, although a significant economic driver, poses substantial environmental challenges such as excessive resource consumption, pollution, and degradation of natural areas. Life cycle approach (LCA Thinking)offers a comprehensive framework for analyzing environmental impacts throughout the entire life cycle of tourism activities, from infrastructure construction to waste management. The thesis presents the theoretical background of Life cycle approach (LCA Thinking), reviews previous studies that have applied it to tourism, and describes the methodology followed. This analysis examines how the Life Cycle Approach (LCA Thinking) is applied to specific tourism case studies, emphasizing the key environmental factors that impact tourism. Finally, the thesis summarizes conclusions regarding the impact of tourism on the environment and proposes solutions to enhance its sustainability, such as adopting more environmentally friendly practices and promoting environmental awareness.
