This paper examines the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in monitoring climate change and managing natural disasters. As a start, climate change is presented as a global challenge, and it's clear that new tech is needed to manage this change. The basic principles of AI and GIS, their interconnection, and their contribution to the analysis of large sets of environmental data are examined. Through a systematic review of the international literature, applications are highlighted that improve the prediction of extreme weather events, the detection of changes in land use, and the management of critical incidents such as fires and floods. The results show that the integration of AI and GIS can be an essential tool for protecting the environment, reducing the impact of the climate crisis, and strengthening the resilience of societies
