The concept of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance) is a critical factor for the long-term sustainability and responsible operation of businesses. This study examines the application of ESG principles in the shipping industry, a sector that plays a pivotal role in the global economy while simultaneously facing significant environmental, social, and governance challenges. The analysis explores the environmental impact of shipping activities, including pollutant emissions, marine pollution, and resource consumption, as well as the social implications related to working conditions, crew safety, and the industry's relationship with local communities. Furthermore, governance issues are evaluated, such as transparency, compliance with international regulations, and ethical decision-making.The study highlights that the integration of ESG practices not only contributes to risk mitigation and the reduction of environmental footprint but also creates opportunities for innovation, access to green finance, and competitive advantage. Finally, best practices and strategic recommendations are presented to support the advancement of a sustainable and resilient shipping industry
