The following master’s thesis aims to analyze the stages of the process followed by companies operating in the IVD sector in order to develop a marketing strategy. IVD products are examined in general, focusing on their role, use and applications. An in-depth analysis is conducted concerning their market and legal framework both in the U.S. and Europe. The strategic planning from a company’s perspective is also analyzed along with how marketing is connected to the IVD sector and how this connection is realized through specific marketing models. Finally the study concludes with an investigation of practical cases that illustrate how companies operate until the adoption of a certain strategy.
