The increasing number of unaccompanied refugee minors, aged 12-17, entering Europe in general and Greece in particular, and settling in reception facilities, makes it extremely necessary to develop comprehensive educational programs that focus on cultivating their essential social skills, given that they are a vulnerable group facing significant psychosocial and cultural challenges. The Master's Thesis (MTh) entitled " An Online Self-Study Course to Promote Smooth Coexistence and Cultural Empathy for Unaccompanied Refugee Minors Aged 12-17 Living in Accommodation Facilities" aims to create an educational tool that serves as a means of social integration and psychosocial empowerment. The main objective of the digital course is to cultivate critical skills such as empathy, responsibility, conflict resolution skills, and resilience. The learning outcomes are aligned with the Council of Europe's internationally recognized Reference Framework of Competences for Democratic Culture (RFCDC), thus enhancing the pedagogical credibility of the intervention. Micro-learning was chosen for the design of the digital course, a strategy that is considered effective as it reduces cognitive overload, facilitates understanding of the content, and provides flexible access to the material, which is particularly important for minors who may change their place of residence quite often. The course differs from other similar programs that exist as it is aimed exclusively at refugee minors themselves and uses simple language in combination with rich multimedia and interactive material, so that it is accessible even to children with limited knowledge of the Greek language. Suggestions for future improvement included, among others, the multilingual application of the course and the use of artificial intelligence technologies.
