The aim of this thesis is the design, development, and evaluation of an e-course addressed to primary school teachers, focusing on the creative use of digital tools in teaching mythology in the third grade. Considering the limited potential of the traditional approach to teaching History in primary schools -often reduced to rote memorization and mechanical narration- alongside the significant role of digital technologies that decisively influence teaching and learning processes, it becomes evident that teachers need targeted training for their effective pedagogical integration.
This digital course has been designed according to the principles of micro-learning. Through short and focused modules, multimodal and digital resources are combined with interactive activities, enabling teachers to become familiar with pedagogical practices and 21st century skills. The learning outcomes of the course are aligned with the National Curriculum, the DigComp 2.2 framework, and the Council of Europe’s Framework for Democratic Culture.
This thesis seeks to contribute to the advancement of mythology teaching through creative interventions. Furthermore, given the absence of targeted training programs for the creative use of digital tools in teaching mythology, the proposed digital course aspires to provide an educational intervention that combines technology with teaching practice. Its ultimate goal is to support the development of teachers’ professional skills while transforming the learning process into an experience that is more engaging, interdisciplinary, and interactive.
