The present research was conducted in order to investigate the relationship of work
motivation in relation to stress management and the avoidance of burnout.
Specifically, investigating the relationship between work motivation, stress
management and avoidance of burnout, can lead to a better understanding of how
work motivation affects employees’ well-being, by acting protectively, reducing
stress and preventing burnout.
For all the above, a quantitative survey was implemented using a questionnaire,
which was distributed via email to 213 employees of Greek public and private
sector enterprises. Study participants were asked to answer questions related to the
characteristics and behavior of their supervisor/employer (either current or
former).
From the quantitative processing of the data, it was shown that both managing
work stress and avoiding work burnout have a strong positive correlation with
motivation.
