Abstract
Greece is a country with a strong and living tradition in matters concerning marriage and childbirth and so, from the far past until even nowadays, the births arise mainly in the context of a marriage. On the other hand, it has been statistically proven, that the childbirths are being largely completed for the majority of the couples in roughly the first three years, post marriage. Taking into consideration the above, we will try in the present study to process the data of marriages and births - arising in the context of a legally accepted marriage - for the years 1950 to 2004. Our goal will be to create satisfactory models, able to interpret the statistical correlation of the number of births to the corresponding number of marriages. The data, that will be used, are annual and semi-annual, while the methods concern mainly lag models.
