The main concept, service models, and applications of cloud computing are the focus of this thesis, compared with the main providers—which are Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Here we look into the development of cloud technologies and assess a range of deployment and service models (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS) and determinants of performance, cost efficiency, flexibility and scalability, security and compliance. Cloud adoption has a real transformative impact on business, education, healthcare and financial sector, as proven by the real world case studies. Additionally, it probes current rising trends such as edge computing, artificial intelligence, use of serverless architecture and, cloud operations sustainability. This research terminates with strategic suggestions for organizations thinking about cloud relocation and for future research directions that would help keep maintaining development in the cloud environment.
