Abstract
This thesis provides a comprehensive examination of the financial health of the Greek oil and gas sectors from 2019 to 2022, a period marked by significant global disruptions, notably the COVID-19 pandemic and the Ukraine crisis of 2022. By focusing on a set of key financial metrics—liquidity, activity, return, profit, and capital structure ratios—the study unravels the operational efficiencies, strategic recalibrations, and market dynamics of prominent Greek entities within these sectors. The research reveals contrasting trajectories between the oil and gas sectors, emphasizing the heterogeneity of their financial strategies and resilience. While external events universally affected both sectors, their individual responses varied based on intrinsic operational complexities, market demands, and strategic visions. This study serves as a robust framework for stakeholders, investors, and policymakers to understand the intricacies of the Greek energy sector in a tumultuous global landscape.
