The rapid development and progress of technology creates new demands and needs in all sectors of modern society. Especially in the business world, technology has an essential role. Since the functions of a company are multiple, simultaneous and complex only with the use of technology they can be managed. Simultaneously, the tax compliance of businesses with the respective laws of the state is a basic condition of their legal operation. The necessary procedures are performed by the accounting departments of companies using competent information systems.
The transition to electronic governance has been a direction followed by all European countries in recent years. Thus, in Greece too, all manual procedures concerning tax issues are gradually being converted to electronic systems. This is also the need for electronic invoicing (e-invoicing), a reform that will be analyzed in this thesis.
This change increases the transparency of financial transactions, reduces tax evasion and automates certain repetitive tax procedures. In this thesis, a study of an e-invoicing solution in the SAP enterprise resource management information system is carried out, in which an e-invoicing service provider acts as an intermediary. An in-depth analysis of the interconnection of the systems involved and an analysis of the requirements of the e-Invoicing process is performed.
