The consumption of energy constitutes a significant factor of growth and sustainability of each economy. Its allocation in terms of electricity as well as petroleum products is formed by several social, financial and geographical factors.
The purpose of this dissertation is to outline the above presenting at first the historic evolvement of electricity and petroleum products in the country, followed by the detailed analysis of the data, according to which basic statistical measures are calculated, so that the basic characteristics of the consumption are demonstrated by geographical region and type of petroleum products. Statistical tests of normality and homoscedasticity are carried out for the extraction of valid results as well as the investigation of statistically important differences among the regions and types of petroleum products. Moreover, a basic part of the analysis is associated with the clustering of the regions and the petroleum products, in order to recognize classes with relevant energetic characteristics and energy patters by various factors.
The results of the following study offer useful information about relevant policy-making and strategies. Finally, the results outlined can be used by researchers and decision makers, aiming at the improvement of energetic management.
