Abstract

This thesis deals with health-related quality of life in patients suffering from breast cancer. The aim of the work is to assess the health-related quality of life of these patients based on the EQ5D-5L and EORTC QLQ-C30 tools in order to determine the factors that influence the quality of life of these people so that we can understand their needs and design an integrated care system that will cover them in their entirety. In the first part of the work, which constitutes its bibliographic part, the disease is described, as well as the meaning associated with healthy quality of life. In the second part of the work, which is the research part of it, a statistical analysis is made of the 100 questionnaires they have answered by patients of his oncology clinic "METAXA" hospital of Attica. The collection of questionnaires took time from 01/01/2024 to 01/05/2024. The questionnaires distributed were Greek version of the EQ5D-5L as well as the EORTC QLQ-C30 and a questionnaire designed for purposes of this paper and contained social, demographic and disease-related features. The results obtained confirmed the literature sources and as a result, the linear regression performed on the eq5d-index with M.O. 3.4 gave us a statistically significant at the 5% level for the independent variable related to surgery shortly before, hair loss and the early stages of chemotherapy. Women who had recently had proximal surgery had worse quality of life than those who had had surgery earlier. Women who experienced hair loss also had worse quality of life than women who did not experience hair loss. Finally, women who were in the early stages of chemotherapy had a better quality of life than women in the more advanced stages of chemotherapy.
