The purpose of this thesis is the analysis of logistics processes emphasizing in inventory management and warehouse cost analysis with further proposals regarding suggestions and improvements in retail company. In the first part of the thesis, reference is made, according to the literature, to the various techniques of categorizing the stocks, with special reference to the costs and the methods of stock replenishment. Next, the most important indicators for supply chain management are presented with a detailed explanation of the use of each one and how they can provide the necessary information to management for decision-making. In addition, the impact of inventory lead time, the importance of maintaining a proper database regarding the organization's material master data, and the large impact of inventory shortages on an organization's overall performance are analyzed. Furthermore, reference is made to the basic functions of a warehouse, the costing of warehouse operations, the productivity of work and the utilization of storage spaces. A separate analysis is also made for the inventory process, the correctness of which is of utmost importance in inventories. In the second part of this paper, the analysis of all the functions and processes of the supply chain circuit of a retail company is carried out, their comparison according to the best practices proposed by the literature and the proposal of improvement interventions in the specific case study. In the last part, the conclusions drawn from the entire analysis of the work are mentioned.
