Nowadays, marine pollution is one of the most critical environmental issues. It has a serious impact both on marine biodiversity and human health, besides economy. It is vital to educate and raise awareness among citizens but more importantly students. The aim of this diploma thesis is to contribute to this direction by designing an educational game that combines augmented reality technology with the pedagogical approach of board games. This combination is expected to attract students’ attention and contribute substantially to the achievement of learning objectives. The goal of the proposed game is to inform and sensitize students about the causes and impacts of marine pollution and encourage them to take actions to minimize the problem.
