This study addressed the issue of responsible entrepreneurship and sustainable development in the apparel industry and was completed through nine chapters. More specifically, firstly, terminologies on the importance of sustainability and its objectives were provided. Then, the international challenges of sustainable development related to the apparel industry were mentioned where the trends shaping the sustainable development of the industry and the challenges and expectations of consumers were discussed. The characteristics of fast fashion from the clothing industry were then documented through general elements of twenty-first century consumerism. Emphasis was placed on the supply chain of the apparel industry with an analysis of fabric production and transport as well as the evolution of digital marketing and e-commerce. Data was then reported on the environmental impact of the garment industry according to raw materials, while great attention was given to the social impact of fashion through which labour abuse, discrimination, low wages and the general risks of the industry were discussed. Finally, reference was made to the circular economy in business through responsible practices in the clothing industry, and examples of companies implementing the circular economy in the clothing sector were given. The study concluded with the final conclusions.
