Undoubtedly, it is quite important for modern businesses that the production and distribution of their products are done in the right quantity, quality, at the right place of delivery, but also at the right time, so as to limit the total cost and to serve the final customers more effectively. The added value to the end customers, their quality service, as well as the effective management of demand on the part of the entities are important factors that give them a competitive advantage. Therefore, the purpose of this work is to study and describe the basic business functions of demand, production and distribution of the products of the companies to the end customers, with the ultimate goal of meeting their requirements and the efficient flow and operation of the supply chain.
