Cloud computing is the appropriate application that allows users to use many computing resources over the internet remotely.
In the field of IT, cloud computing, through its particular characteristics and distinct properties, offers the possibility of upgrading the knowledge provided, so that it becomes more easily accessible and more efficient.
In this master's thesis we first present the history of education, the structure of education, learning theory and the software we use in education.
Then there is a historical review of cloud computing, its characteristics as well as advantages and disadvantages, security issues and the future of cloud computing.
We also analyze the application of cloud computing in education as an educational tool, the benefits and obstacles in teaching.
Finally, we studied the platforms used in modern and asynchronous distance education.
