This thesis examines leadership as a factor in creating a competitive advantage
for businesses. The first chapter analyzes the concept of leadership through
various definitions, drawing connections with management while exploring
different leadership styles, approaches, and theories, with an emphasis on
contemporary approaches. The second chapter focuses on the relationship
between leadership and emotional intelligence, highlighting how emotional
intelligence is a crucial success factor for leaders and enhances workplace
performance. The third chapter presents the concept and framework of Strategic
Management and Total Quality Management, as well as their interconnection,
underscoring the importance of strategy for the long-term success of
organizations. The fourth chapter centers on the concept of competitive
advantage, explaining its definition and the role of human resources as a
fundamental factor in creating sustainable competitive advantage. The final
chapter presents a case study of an insurance company, providing a strategic
analysis that validates the theoretical perspectives discussed in the previous
chapters. This analysis demonstrates that focusing on the human factor can grant
a significant competitive advantage to a business, affirming the connection
between leadership and the success and sustainability of business strategy.
