This study focuses on the development of an e-learning course based on the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) method for the teaching of English to 6th grade students, with the aim of improving participation and peer collaboration. The lesson is designed to incorporate PjBL, providing opportunities for students to actively participate in learning through group projects. Digital tools such as Discord, Google Docs and Padlet are used to support collaboration, interaction and information gathering.
The research focuses on five key research questions, which examine how the use of PBL e-learning affects students' language skills, confidence in using English, collaboration and creative thinking. In addition, the impact of the course on students' intercultural understanding is studied. The hypotheses of the study support that the e-learning will positively contribute to the improvement of students' skills and enhance teamwork and cooperation.
The results of the statistical analysis show that the e-learning had a positive effect on the students' language skills, their confidence in using the language and their cooperation. In addition, there was a significant improvement in the understanding of cultural differences. Comparison of the results with the original objectives showed that the hypotheses were verified, while any discrepancies were attributed to factors such as the students' initial lack of familiarity with the digital tools.
Overall, the research demonstrates the potential of the PjBL method in digital environments to enhance students' learning, collaboration and cross-cultural understanding.
