The development of social stories has made evident their impact on the education system and on the support of children on the autism spectrum (ASD) and on the children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). They were developed by Carol Gray in 1990s, who also she has authored several books and articles in her career. The methodology which she developed for social stories is still widely used today to help children with ASD to understand -and be able to manage- social situations.
In the following thesis, social stories were created which:
i. They are creations of artificial intelligence exclusively.
ii. They maintain one common digital character (depending on the child) in cartoon or comics form.
iii. They focus on issues of everyday life and they change according to the situation.
This thesis aims to highlight the alternative ways of connecting everyday life with both technology and artificial intelligence in order to contribute to the understanding and application of the potentials of AI in the education and support of children with ASD and ADHD, offering new perspectives and tools to create social stories with alternative way to improve the quality of life and learning of these children, with gaining their interest and making them more personalized.
