This thesis aims to investigate the role of Emotional Intelligence in the learning behavior of
adolescent secondary school students. Emotional intelligence, i.e. the ability to manage our
emotions but also to understand the emotions of others, is considered a fundamental skill
for the development of healthy interpersonal relationships.
Based on references in the Greek and international literature, the paper attempts to
thoroughly analyze the need to integrate the education of emotional intelligence in school
programs to cultivate a positive and cooperative school climate, which will benefit students
at all levels.
The study begins with a theoretical overview of the concept of emotional intelligence,
focusing on its main dimensions. It also examines various theories and approaches to
emotional intelligence, with an emphasis on the views of leading researchers such as Daniel
Goleman.
The paper then reviews the results of previous studies that have investigated the
relationship between emotional intelligence and conflict, showing the benefits of high
emotional intelligence in effective conflict resolution.
The research methodology includes the implementation of an educational intervention (ecourse) with the aim of developing emotional intelligence in adolescent secondary school
students. This educational intervention includes activities and exercises that strengthen
emotional intelligence skills. Students taking part in the research are assessed before and
after the intervention to determine changes in their levels of emotional intelligence and
conflict resolution skills. As the educational program progresses, it is examined whether and
to what extent the students who participated in the interventions showed significant
improvement in emotional intelligence skills and conflict resolution skills.
