Abstract

This study examines the critical role of data analytics in the healthcare sector and how it can contribute to improving healthcare policy and health outcomes. The extensive use of Big Data provides new opportunities for evaluating healthcare services, making evidence-based decisions, and enhancing both the quality of services provided and the overall effectiveness of the healthcare system. Big Data in healthcare results from the exponential increase in the collection and processing of large volumes of data, such as medical records, imaging tests, and information from health monitoring devices. Analyzing this data through predictive models allows the extraction of valuable insights, offering new possibilities for supporting clinical decisions, providing personalized treatments, forecasting future health trends, and improving service quality. Furthermore, the study focuses on the potential of Big Data to reduce healthcare costs, streamline expenditures, ensure proper resource allocation, identify the most effective medical practices, and optimize healthcare delivery overall. It also addresses the challenges associated with the use of Big Data, such as privacy protection and managing information in a way that ensures the accuracy and validity of results. Despite the issues that may arise, Big Data serves as a catalyst for innovation and improvement in the efficiency of healthcare services, enabling more informed and effective decision-making. However, careful planning and investments in technology are necessary to fully realize their potential. The analysis of Big Data in healthcare represents an emerging force that promotes the development of better health policies and enhances clinical outcomes, positively impacting both patients and the whole healthcare system.
