As global economic, political, and social conditions have been dynamic and constantly changing over recent decades, transforming the nature of business compared to the past—alongside ongoing geopolitical crises, efforts by Europe and the USA to limit China’s commercial expansion, and the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine—the economic and business environment, as well as trade conditions between countries, appear more volatile than ever.
Specifically, high inflation, elevated energy costs, and increased prices for raw materials and transportation services, especially from East to West, highlight the need for businesses to explore methods and make strategic decisions that emphasize differentiation and innovation. The ultimate goal is to achieve competitive advantage and establish a firm foothold in today’s business environment.
Given these prevailing conditions, there is an urgent need to investigate and analyze both the external and internal environments of businesses to identify those differentiating factors that will make them directly competitive and effective. Furthermore, there is a need for in-depth exploration of the role of innovation at both national and European levels.
The aim of this thesis, therefore, is to attempt to highlight and analyze all the factors that critically contribute to the strategic development of businesses, emphasizing the necessity of differentiation and innovation to ensure strategic success.
