Until 2001, most businesses used the Waterfall model for project management and software development. This model followed a linear, strictly sequential process, with each stage completed before the next began. However, the modern market's needs for speed and adaptability made this model less effective.
In 2001, a group of experts drafted the Agile Manifesto, which is based on four core values and twelve principles that emphasize collaboration, flexibility, and rapid delivery of value. Since then, many companies have adopted agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban and the Daily Standup Meeting technique. However, using methodologies alone does not guarantee success. Real change comes from adopting the Agile Mindset, which focuses on attitudes such as seeking solutions instead of assigning blame, inspiring instead of simply selling, supporting the team, open communication, self-awareness, the co-creation and sharing of knowledge.
In order to promote this mindset, a Massive Open Online Course (Mooc) was created, which focuses on adopting the Agile Mindset and cultivating an agile way of working, based on the principles of Professional Competencies for Business Agility V3 (Practitioner - Level 2) . The course was designed and developed using the Open edX platform, offering participants the appropriate tools and techniques to understand and incorporate Agile principles into their professional environment.
