Abstract

This thesis focuses on the creation and implementation of a micro-MOOC entitled "Development and Implementation of Counselling and Career Guidance Skills for Adults" through the OpenEdX platform. The course is designed to enhance the professional training of individuals who wish to develop skills in counselling, career guidance, career management and conflict resolution in the workplace. Using micro-learning principles, this programme offers learners the opportunity to follow and complete the course at their own pace, combining flexibility, interactivity and practical application of knowledge. The OpenEdX platform was chosen because of its ability to support multimedia material, its assessment tools, and the continuous updates and flexibility it provides in the development of training programmes. This postgraduate thesis highlights the importance of using MOOCs and micro-learning as models for the development of personal and professional skills, highlighting the advantages of these methods, such as accessibility, low cost and the possibility of wide dissemination of knowledge. At the same time, the challenges faced when implementing MOOCs, such as maintaining learner engagement and the need for personalization of learning, are discussed. The paper suggests future improvements focused on further enhancing personalization and interactivity, with the aim of creating a richer and more comprehensive learning experience for users. Finally, the contribution of these approaches to the promotion of online education and continuing professional development is highlighted.
