This thesis examines how successful companies utilize the criteria of the European model of business excellence, EFQM, to gain a competitive advantage and become excellent in the modern market of the 21st century. In order to remain competitive, companies must adapt to new market trends, technological developments, and social and environmental standards. Successful companies employ digital supply chains, artificial intelligence, human capital, corporate strategy, innovation, and market orientation to gain a sustainable competitive advantage. In addition, companies must invest in human resources, adopt innovative technologies, and prioritize sustainability. Business excellence tools and models, such as the European EFQM model, are essential for enhancing competitiveness and identifying opportunities for organizational development. By prioritizing continuous improvement, investing in employee training, and fostering a culture of innovation, companies can establish themselves as industry leaders and ensure long-term success in an ever-evolving market.
