Digital Storytelling, the art of conveying narratives through digital media, and virtual museums have emerged as important vectors for the promotion, preservation and communication of cultural heritage. Digital Storytelling can create a unique experience for the audience, by utilizing modern technologies, which are constantly evolving, to highlight the narratives that exist around us and are part of human life, and shape it, from ancient times until today. Virtual museums, on the other hand, have revolutionized the way people interact with tangible and intangible cultural heritage, having expanded access to it beyond physical constraints, enabling people from all over the world to explore and appreciate a multitude of exhibits. This work, through a multilevel approach and analysis of Digital Storytelling, highlights how it can be integrated into the program of virtual museums, communicating their work and how this partnership opens new horizons, offering innovative ways of effectively connecting people with the richness of our collective cultural and historical heritage. The results of the above research will be utilized in the case study, which is about the Virtual Educational Museum of the Greek National Opera, both by examining the uses of Digital Storytelling in this virtual museum environment, and by presenting proposals for its further utilization.
