The subject of this dissertation is the role of European Union in educational policymaking and
its impact on the Greek educational system. Through an extensive review of the policies of
European Union, this study examines how the Union's directives influence the national
educational strategies of Greece, while through the quantitative method, it investigates the
familiarity, awareness, knowledge, and perceptions of Greek primary education teachers,
regarding the European identity, the European dimension in education, and the European
interventions in the Greek educational system. The study emphasizes the importance of
integrating European educational dimensions to strengthen national educational frameworks.
