Abstract
Nowadays, many companies are interested in storage, since warehouses contribute to the supply chain’s primary objective of maximizing customer’s satisfaction and minimizing the cost. Thus, for ΕΠΠΕΑ, which is the company i work for, storage is equally important. ΕΠΠΕΑ is a company which produces rolled aluminum products and the operation of storage plays an important role in the proper operation of the company.
Another issue, which is closely related to the operation of storage, is the internal handling of materials. Internal transport is carried out by a variety of industrial vehicles, which must be in optimal condition in order to be able to safely serve the requests and needs of each department without delays. To achieve this, many industries, like ΕΠΠΕΑ, choose to maintain their own vehicle workshop, whose operation is greatly influenced by management of spare parts.
Therefore, the main purpose of this master's thesis is to indicate the best way to develop and organize a functional warehouse of spare parts for heavy industrial vehicles (ABOBX). This will be achieved by presenting all the relevant data of ΕΠΠΕΑ and analyzing the peculiarities and limitations of the warehouse. For this reason, it is necessary to be found and carefully studied all the characteristics of warehouse’s spare parts and equipment. Finally, the significant objectives are the elimination of ΕΠΠΕΑ’s problems and the development of a general model for the creation and management of ABOBX warehouse.
