This Master's Thesis focuses on digitally enhancing the former industrial spaces, now transformed into galleries along Polydefkous Street in the district of Agios Dionysios, Piraeus. The project introduces an Android smartphone application-guide, designed and developed to enrich the modern cultural experience through the integration of Augmented Reality (AR) technology. By digitally processing interactive elements, the physical environment's (spatio-temporal context) appeal is heightened, offering users an immersive encounter. The application invites significant user engagement, fostering creative and personalized interactions with 3D models representing contemporary galleries. A key priority throughout the development was to ensure an overall delightful user experience. Cutting-edge technologies are strategically employed to safeguard and preserve the Industrial Heritage, both tangible and intangible, of Piraeus city. The application's overarching framework comprises a diverse array of thematic modules, offering users the opportunity for a comprehensive exploration of the Agios Dionysios' cultural and historical essence over the long term. Detailed descriptions of the research process and the Master's Thesis construction are provided in the individual chapters, complemented by an abundance of visual material such as screenshots of operational screens. Furthermore, comprehensive insight is provided into the array of digital tools utilized across various stages of the study, design, and development of this thesis.
