In the framework of human resources management, the Health Service Units take action with the ultimate aim of increasing the efficiency and quality of their service provision. The most effective and common methods to improve the efficiency of each unit include, among others, the empowerment and satisfaction of the staff. More specifically, the evaluation of staff efficiency, their financial reward incentives and professional training and development programs are included. These tools, as well as their use, are included in the primary practices that each health service provider unit or organization must implement in order to properly manage its human resources. These practices aim to ensure the balance between the supply of the workforce and the satisfaction of all health professionals to perform their duties correctly, efficiently and qualitatively. This, in turn, results in ensuring the best possible quality of health service provision in the respective units and institutions. In this paper, an attempt is made to study and analyze the role of human resource management in health units at the national level and more specifically how it is ensured through the empowerment and satisfaction of the staff.
