The landscape of the European continent changed completely after the First World War. The end of the world meant the end of empires and the creation of Europe as we know it today, and it also meant the struggle for survival of two completely opposing ideologies, Nazism and Communism. After the defeat, the armistice had to be signed and Germany had to fulfil the harsh conditions that the Allied powers had agreed upon. Germany needed a revolution that would bring the country new glory. The appointment of a personality who would help Germany out of this situation. This personality was needed to make the vision a reality. Thanks to the arrival of the Austrian Hitler and because of his personality, National Socialism became very popular in Germany. The personality was created by his team, by his own character and with the help of the elites. After the failed coup d’état of 1923 and the failed attempt to overthrow Weimar democracy, he and the party realised the limits of their own movement. This situation led Hitler to understand the problems and the solutions of how to take power. The economic crisis of 1929, the political and ideological crisis and the appeasement policies of the other major powers helped Hitler to seize power in Germany. After becoming chancellor of Germany by democratic means, he overthrew democracy in order to establish totalitarian power.
