Karting is a motor racing event held on tracks under specific regulations set by the FIA, CIK-FIA, and ASN. Each year, the FIA is responsible for publishing Karting’s Sporting and Technical Regulations. These regulations are to be followed strictly in the choice and design of the car as well as by the karting pilots themselves. Moreover, the FIA has published a series of online courses dedicated to delivering some knowledge regarding the regulations and some other basic concepts of the sport. However, not one complete online course has been published where students would investigate the practical side of karting, such as driving techniques, in addition to some other characteristics that are important to the sport. This paper aims to cover this gap while also introducing contemporary computer-supported collaborative learning to the learning design, which is completed using the learning design tool CADMOS. Furthermore, elements of Augmented Reality have been added to the course to make it more appealing which can motivate the students and result in them participating more actively. In this dissertation, the research process is presented in detail, from the collection of data, the questionnaires used, the analysis of the data results to the discussion of the findings. Along with what is forementioned, there is a review of what researched for evaluation purposes. Finally, this paper presents suggestions for further study.
