The need that has arisen in recent years to reduce carbon dioxide gas emissions on the planet has made it important for all car manufacturers worldwide to redefine their strategy. The use of electric energy in vehicles has gained ground in recent years, while the use of lithium plays a key role in this transformation, as it is the dominant element in an electric vehicle. In the first chapter of this thesis, some information about the automobile industry is presented, such as some decisive events during the evolution of automobiles, while some very important automobile industries of the world map are also briefly presented. In the second chapter, some information is given about lithium, such as its mining process, the advantages it provides and the most important suppliers in the world market. Chapter 3 constitutes the research chapter, where a regression is performed between lithium prices and the stock prices of selected automobile companies. Through this analysis, some useful conclusions are drawn as to whether lithium prices have the potential to influence and to what extent the prices of automotive stocks.
