The postgraduate dissertation aims to explore the capital structure of Greek companies that trade in the food and beverage sector of the Athens Stock Exchange. The investigation period is 2010-2019 and secondary data are collected from the consolidated financial statements of the companies concerned.
The financial analysis shows that the demand for credit from businesses changed during the 2008 financial crisis. At the same time, the provision of credit from banks to businesses has also shrunk as a result of the banks' liquidity reduction. In this context, some companies have granted bond loans to finance their activities. Finally, most of the sample companies maintained high or very high liquidity.
