The circular economy is emerging as one of the most innovative and necessary approaches for addressing the challenges facing society in the 21st century. In a world with limited natural resources and increasing waste production, the circular economy proposes an integrated approach to the economy, where material resources are kept in a loop instead of being discarded as waste.
In this thesis, we will examine the basic principles of sustainable development and their importance for the sustainability of the planet. We will analyze the circular economy and its basic principles, as well as how it contributes to the preservation of natural resources and the reduction of waste.
Additionally, we will examine examples of circular economy in various sectors, recyclable materials, and the relationship between linear and circular economy. We will also explore the relationship between circular economy and the urban environment, as well as the technologies that contribute to the implementation of the circular economy.
Next, we will analyze the city as a system of inputs and outputs and how the circular economy can contribute to the sustainability of urban centers. We will examine the challenges that cities face today and how the circular economy can help address them.
Finally, we will examine successful examples of circular economy in various countries and regions of the world and present the Neom and Cairo projects, which are expected to become standards for the implementation of the circular economy in practice.
In this thesis, we will closely examine the role of the circular economy in addressing the challenges facing society and how we can achieve a more sustainable and resilient society through the application of the principles of the circular economy.
