The subject of this paper is the concept of financial education. Based on the international experience on financial education at school age, there is little available research data on primary education, with existing studies emphasizing on the fact that financial education offers significant benefits to children as early as in primary school. Regarding the issue of financial literacy of students in Greece, there are almost no reports on primary education, despite that the issue of financial education of students is topical. Based on the above, the aim of the present research process is to investigate the views of teachers and parents/guardians of primary school students in Greece, regarding the financial literacy of children in small classes at school. The survey is quantitative and the sample consists of 126 teachers and 162 parents/guardians. The sampling procedure followed was the sample proportion and snowball (chain sampling) method. The survey was conducted online using Google Forms in June 2023. Through the analysis, the views of teachers and parents/guardians on economics and financial education of children at an early age were captured. It was also found that there are some differences in the views of parents and teachers on financial education of children. The present analysis has highlighted the need for both parents and teachers to discuss with their children and students in the classroom respectively issues related to the economy, through actions that can increase the level of financial literacy of students, which is unfortunately assessed as moderate.
