Abstract

Thanks to the strides made in technology over the last ten years, almost every industry has moved into a digital age. Companies are embracing digital transformation in their supply chains, implementing new technology that creates harmonious systems. This increased efficiency translates into cost savings and better meeting the needs of both customers and businesses. Corporate changes have resulted in companies seeking profits in new markets, incentivizing them to seek supply chains that are efficient and budget friendly. To maximize the benefits of digitizing their supply chain and inventory management, companies must first understand its importance. Therefore, it is vital for them to explore technologies involved in this digitization process. But the study of these technologies should go beyond simply understanding their functionalities. They should also delve into the aspects modified by each new technology in the digitization of supply chains. Only in this way can profound improvements in these processes be achieved. Empowering businesses through supply chain digitization is vital and this paper aims to highlight its importance. This paper examines past, present and future digitization trends and their practical application. Dive into various technologies such as IoT, AI, cloud computing, blockchain, data analytics. The analysis of these technologies will focus on the advantages, possible disadvantages and expected developments, all with the aim of evaluating their possible contribution to the improvement of supply chain digitization with an emphasis on inventory management.
